FREE DENTAL MISSION ENDED SUCCESSFULLY!

After four days of hard works to help the indigent people of Toril with their oral health our dental mission ended on December 30, 2010 successfully. One hundred eighty four (184) patients have benefited from the dental mission. Many were thankful because they can now sleep well at night without toothache.

This dental mission will not be a successful one without the voluntary help of our dentists, Dr. Reinhold and Ute Fiegle and our own dentist Dr. Roslyn Tamay who made their best to extract the teeth of the patients whether its a simple or a complex extraction. Thanks to all the assistants who assisted the dentists during the mission. We would also like to emphasize our thanks to all the people who extended their help by giving dental needs to Dr. and Dra. Fiegle. Your help is heartily appreciated.

Here are some of the photos taken during the dental mission...

FAMILY FIEGLE VISITED THE 87th WATER

Dr. Reinhold and Dr. Ute with kids personally visited the 87th water donated by  Frau Renate Fiegle (mother of Dr. Reinhold)

Yesterday, Dr. Reinhold Fiegle together with his family made a water tour. They visited the flowing-water donated by Metaxxa and Cafe Fugunt, Mark and Steffi, Hopfen Museum of Tettnang, Altmusikanten of Kressbronn, Musikverein Kressbronn (during their first Philippine tour), and the flowing-water donated by the   town of Kressbronn. The pit stop of their water tour is the flowing-water donated by Frau Renate Fiegle. They are very happy and satisfied to see that many families can benefit on the water that Frau Renate Fiegle donated.

CHRISTMAS IS IN THE AIR!

Parents and strike a pose after making the belen and recycled Christmas tree...
The Christmas decorations made by scholars together with their parents and the KTEP staff is finally finished. All the KTEP members were being united in accomplishing this task. The values of cooperation, creativity and resourcefulness are shown. Everyone loves to decorate at Christmas months before the holiday. They enjoyed decorating not only with star lanterns but also with all sorts of Christmas decors. They chose decorations made with local native materials. They made a Belen made of magazines, newspapers and old coconut leaves. They also made a big lovely Christmas tree with colorful lanterns hung on it. It was truly a unique one for it was made by one’s own hands. Stars, lanterns, Christmas trees and any other Christmas decorations add more loveliness to the building.

From all of us here in the Philippines we would like to greet you all a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New year....

PARENTS, SCHOLARS AND STAFF DECORATES KTEP BUILDING!

Bayanihan is a Filipino word that means communal unity or effort to achieve a particular objective. Today, at exactly seven o’clock in the morning the parents, scholars and KTEP staff made a bayanihan to decorate the KTEP building with Christmas symbols.
Everyone is so busy doing their decorations, a group of fathers are busy building the small belen while a group of mothers are also busy decorating their Christmas tree. The materials that they used are very simple and recyclable which can be found in everywhere. This is our way of reducing the garbage in our area.  Most of the materials that are being used are: old newspapers and magazines for making the belen, used straws of soft drinks, unused tie wires, old coconut tree leaves and of course the used anesthesia bottles from our dental clinic. Old of these will be used to create our Christmas decoration.

The finalization of the bayanihan will be done next week (Sunday) and will be posted here in KTEP website.

Below are the pictures taken during the bayanihan….

Parents are making there Christmas Tree out of Bamboo branch.
Fathers are building the Belen!
The anesthesia bottles are tied together to decorate it in the Christmas Tree.
While the others are busy these scholars are also busy in gardening.

PLAYING IS FUN!

KIGA playing lego
KIGA playing cards and reading books
Playing is what the kids like most. It is the activity that took them a lot of pleasure and enjoyment. It is the most awaited time that they are waiting for. Everyday their teacher gives them time to spend in the playroom just to make them fun and relax after their class lessons. They are so much excited to finish their writings just to experience the happiest moment of time. They want to play all day long. Happiness is what we see in their faces when they are playing. It feels good when we hear them laughing and see them smiling.

82nd WATER PROJECT IS FINISH!

This man pump his first container of water from the hand pump.

Even in a remote and mountainous part of Davao particularly in Calinan where water is so precious the KTEP Water Team worked hard and made their best to burst the water out of the ground to give the villagers a potable water to drink.

And finally, after some difficult days of drilling; the 82nd water project of KTEP and 18th joint project of Rotary International, Rotary Clubs of Montelimar (France), Ravensburg (Germany) and KTEP is already finish.

3 NEW SCHOLARS ARE ACCEPTED!

One of our new scholar strikes a pose with her mother in front of their house.

"Bless and Thankful", "A big Christmas gift" are the words that the parents of our three newly accepted scholars uttered when I went personally in their houses to tell them the good news.

This youths waited for their opportunity and chance to study in college for almost a year and on November 10 this month they are officially part of the German Scholars. They did not wasted time and enrolled themselves for the second semester. Teary and speechless are the 3 scholars as they received the names and addresses of their new sponsors.

Happy and full of hope as we visited Jenifer in their house!
In behalf of our e newly accepted scholars, Jenifer, Jeffrey and Tarah our never ending thanks to Dr. Joe Heider, Herr Karlheinz and Anita Kugel and Herr Helmut Tanner for their continuous support to the Filipino youths in their studies and for trusting and believing in KTEP Projekt!
Thank you so much!
Jeffrey took a pose full with pride!
